Harvest Mission Perspective Cambodia (HMPC); Summer, 2004

But join with me in suffering for the gospel. by the power of God¡¦

Welcome to the Harvest Mission Perspective Cambodia, Summer 2004, in His Name!

Objective of the HMPC: Summer, 2004

To equip young Christians, junior high schoolers and beyond, with thorough understandings on world missions in these last days, help them to study false religions and develop mission strategies against them, and encourage them to have serving hearts toward different races, who are in the darkness, living in different cultures, customs, languages, and environments. Simultaneously, to train them to possess victorious spiritual warfare tactics against power of dark side and have effective and confident street evangelism, one-to-one sharing of the gospel so that they become pleasing and contributing workers for the Lord Jesus in His harvest fields at home as well as at overseas, and influence others positively and affirmatively to serve the Lord sacrificially and unconditionally according to His plan and will.

The Harvest Mission International Cambodia (HMIC) is pleased to announce the HMPC to potential future missionaries, who are willing to suffer for the sake of the Lord Jesus and the gospel in order to further His Kingdom and prepare ways for His return to rid all evils of the world and establish God¡¯s reign of justice.  The HMPC is a unique program designed to provide participants with two-week long rigorous first-hand, up-to-date world mission lessons by internationally renowned front-line missionaries and mission lecturers, followed by two week of front mission outreaches in the Provinces of Kampong Cham, Seam Reap, Battambang.

For the first two weeks, all the participants stay at the Bethel Mission Center of the HMIC, located in the Prey Chhor District, Kampong Cham Province, about 120 km northeast from the Capital City Phnom Penh.

The lecturers for the HMPC, along with Khmer coworkers, will stay at the Center so that participants could have close contacts with them after classes for further enrichments, in informal environment. While all the participants are expected to receive intensive trainings thru class lectures, they may also engage in activities, after classes, such as teaching English and computer, musical instruments, crafts, sports, VBS, praise and worship dances to local Cambodian students, according to their gifts, preferences, during afternoon hours after lectures (the HMIC provides; all equipments, materials, places). They will also visit local churches nearby and schools for evangelism and campus ministries with translators so that they can put in practice what they learn (We encourage all the participants to speak English freely with local students!) to build confidence on front line missions in unfamiliar territories.

local evangelism activities

In their spare time they can meditate on His words and walk with the Lord in the garden of the center and enjoy sports activities such as volleyball, soccer, badminton, fishing, and table tennis with local students, who frequent the center. Also they can visit the Bright Future School, pre- and elementary Christian school, and serve the students in many fields.

Here the whole idea is to share what we have with local peoples!

Through regularly scheduled praise and worship gatherings at the center in predawn hours and in the evenings, they will develop intimate relationship with the Lord and thus achieve spiritual growth. Living together in the very secure clean mission center with indigenous Khmer Christian coworkers and serving one another, participants will develop spirit of team-works and be more closely exposed to foreign cultures. Through cultivating gardens and raising farm animals, they will learn to appreciate the value of hard works and labors.  And attending local church services will help them value different forms of worship and praise in other language. Their two-week long outreach through the country will bond them together strongly spiritually, harden , toughen, broaden their endurance level in harsh environments. Evangelizing to total strangers they come across during outreach will lead them to have trust and hope in the Lord, and be sensitive to the will of his Spirit, and obey His guidance.
